The BPNN Financial Stability Committee focuses on connecting Brighton Park residents with the resources necessary to enhance their economic well-being. Recognizing that our community is disproportionately impacted by economic hardship, we aim to facilitate access to financial support and life-sustaining employment opportunities that will allow community members to build the assets that they need to thrive.
Driven by this goal, our Financial Stability Committee focuses on the following initiatives:
- Providing comprehensive case management, financial coaching, housing counseling, and free tax preparation services to families who are experiencing economic hardship
- Connecting community residents to workforce development and employment opportunities
- Supporting students in advancing their educational and career goals
- Expanding workforce development programming in accordance with identified community needs

Accomplishments:
- We offered free tax preparation for 294 residents, helping them to access $657,130 in returns.
- We provided over $660,000 in emergency financial assistance to more than 784 families impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
- 178 families participated in comprehensive case management services, of whom
82% obtained safe and stable housing. - We provided housing counseling to 128 families.
- 129 individuals received job counseling and career support services, of whom 36 were connected to workforce development opportunities and 33 were connected to full or part-time employment.
