On May 16, 2023, we hosted an end-of-year celebration with Kelly College Prep, a community school partner. The event took place outside Kelly College Prep's courtyard, where students and community members gathered to celebrate. The day was filled with energy as attendees showcased all the fantastic work done during the school year, including art projects, dance performances and community service initiatives. Students and community members proudly displayed their work, sharing with one another the hard work and dedication that went into each project. The joy and sense of accomplishment were palpable, a testament to the power of collaboration between schools and the communities we serve.
The celebration was an opportunity to share the incredible services BPNC offers, such as our "Success and Stability" program. This program provides comprehensive case management services to families at risk of eviction from their homes/apartments. It helps families become financially stable and secure safe and sustainable housing. We also showcased our Safe Passage workers, a group of over 70 individuals working together to keep our streets across the southwest side of Chicago safe. They provide safe routes for students to increase attendance, decrease violent incidents involving CPS students, and increase student perception of safety traveling to and from school.
The photo gallery showcasing all the fantastic clubs established during the school year was a highlight of the event. It was a testament to the hard work and dedication of the students and community members who worked tirelessly to develop these clubs and initiatives. The photo gallery inspired and motivated the students and community members to continue working towards their goals. In addition to the photo gallery, the celebration was filled with fun activities, food, music, and games. The event was an excellent opportunity for students and community members to come together, socialize, and build relationships.
The partnership between BPNC and Kelly College Prep has provided students and community members with the resources and support they need to succeed. The event was a celebration of the partnership's successes and a way to inspire and motivate students and community members to continue working towards their goals.
