BPNC supports students in succeeding by providing academic assistance to at-risk 8th, 9th, and 10th graders. Mentors maintain caseloads of 10-20 students and work with them on a one-on-one basis to ensure they are on track to graduate. Mentors keep in close contact with teachers and staff. BPNC has worked with Freshman Academy to receive referrals based on off-track data and an early referral system set up with Network 8.
In a single year, up to 280 students were engaged in the mentor program.
